10 days to go ...
... until Iraq gets its first democratically elected government. Hopefully, that will also signal the commencement of a schedule to withdraw US and allied forces. The murderous cretins who sneak-bomb and sneak attack passive targets will, however, continue to create mayhem.
Which will, in turn, continue to tie US forces down there - something people across the mainstream western political spectrum profess not to want.
So wouldn't it be better then, for all on left and right, to focus argument and armchair effort against the chauvinist head-lopping sub-humans who legitimize the presence in Iraq of allied forces?
The Islamist and other extremists there not only respond to, but feed off and cultivate image politics. The more voices that abhor them, the less pain for the majority of Iraqis, and consequently the more impetus for President Bush to deliver on allowing freedom and liberty to reign, there and everywhere, as he underlined at his inauguration.
